I have had bleeding and clotting when urinating since my cardiologist started me on Plavix and baby aspirin plus Coreg and Zocor because of installation of a stent for a partially blocked artery near the heart. I have had prostate problems for about 20 years and have endured two "Terps". One about 20 years age and another about l0 years ago. My Urologist suggests cauterizing the prostate in order to make taking the heart medications easier on the prostate. What do you think?
yes he is right. enlarged prostate can cause on going blood in urine which is increased with use of aspirin / plavix which delay / prevent clotting and keep the blood thin. also must rule out infection and kidney disease.
Why did I have clots when Plavix and aspirin are blood thinners and are the other heart medications causing the bleeding and clotting? Also, are there other blood thinners which might be more suitable
they are blood thinners but blood when bleed can also form clots so that is not unusual or strange. coreg and zocor dont cause bleeding ot clot. other medicine that can be used would be coumadin but thats even higher potency than aspirin/ plavix. they can stop aspirin while continue plavix as that is needed to keep the stent open.
