Hello, My girlfriend last week was abducted, gang-raped, threatened with her life if she reports, drugged and then they brutally cut away the nerve which connects her vagina with the nerve which gives pleasure! Is there a chance that this nerve can be re-attached or that it will grow back? Will she always be insensitive to sex from now on?
Gender: MaleAge: 46
Hi, Sorry to find that.Do you mean her clitoris was cut?
No the nerve was raptured from inside from what the gyneachologist told her - apart from a massive infection due to the unhygienic thing they must have used. She is totally numb all around her vagina and clit - i mean she has no sensation at all. she cannot masturbate cos she feels nothing. Intercourse is also numb.
Hi, It looks like her S4 nerve has been damaged. The damage can also happen if sombody gets trauma lower back.Though chances are not very bright. But still the peripheral nerves when damaged has the abilty to regenearte from 50% to 75%.The growth occurs at rate of 5mm per dayfor long nerves .So I think she will be able to recover her sensations though maybe not complete but at least upto 70% but it will definatelt take few months depending upon how fast the whole process occur. I wish her good health. Thanks, Dr.Naeem
So you think that the nerve will grow back?
yes
Doctor (MD)
Medical Doctor,UK
She just returned from a hospital visit - she was told there that the chances for her to get any feeling back are of 0 to 30%. Why is this discrepancy in your answers?
Hi, Maybe difference is lying coz they have examined her and I have not .But still I think chances are more than 30% if she develops some sensation in next 2 months .So for now I will say just wait and watch. Best regards, Dr.Naeem
Forgive me for bothering you again - but for us this is really important. She was a very sexually active woman and this is a great blow for her and for us as a couple. Would sexually stimulating her by sucking and touching (not her vaginal area obviously) frequently help in the healing of the nerve? I was just supposing that stimulation encourages growth. I am not a doctor obviously - its just my layman's logic
Yes I understand .Exactly cannot say but obviously stimulation is important to keep the area alive. Also the harmonal stimulation will probably help in regrowth. I wish you all the best. Regards, Dr.Naeem
If I may ask another question - don't answer if i am being too selfish. The doctor said that the kind of infection they gave her will never heal - that it is very rare - that they did not even see such infections on the worst prostitutes etc - and that it is incurable - it will go dormant and then resurrect. Her uterus is destroyed and so are her ovaries - she can never sustain a pregnancy and she might eventually need a histeroctamy. Can you confirm that such an infection is possible? I mean how can an infection not be curable with antibiotics? As i said, as i can't afford to pay more feel free to not reply. I really appreciate your replies though - i have nobody else to turn to!
Hi, I have my real sympathies for you.Somtimes there happen some yeast infection that go recurrent and are really hard to treat. But to be honest I dont know any of such infection that led to hystrectomy. However if there is chance of spread of such infection to other parts and the damage has occured too much then gynaecologist can think of doing a hystrectomy.Probably this is the reason of such decision. Regards, Dr.Naeem
The reason would be - as I understood it from what I was told - that the infection can only go dormant for a while and if it starts recurring too often then the hystrectomy!
Yes in this case their decision is genuine.
Thanks so much for your patience
my prayers with you.
Just a followup note - she has all her clit sensitivity back and inside her vagina is nearly back to normal with regards XXXXX XXXXX - only the labia seem to be still rather numb. So all in all I believe you were right and the local doctors were wrong - I think she has at least 80% sensitivity back and she can have an orgasm easily! Thanks again for your support :)
