My husband fell off of a roof at 9 a.m. this morning. We went to the doctor at 12 noon today. He hit his face when he fell off of the roof because he landed face first on the ground. The doctor took facial x-rays and a shoulder x-ray. The x-rays showed nothing broken. However, the doctor did not see him. I didn't understand that. They just told the receptionist to tell him as long as his nose was not bleeding profusly and he wasn't dizzy then he would be fine. He has been bleeding from his nose all day today. Nothing serious but he's still bleeding from it. It's very light. I want to know if I should take him back to the doctor if the bleeding persists through the night. I am worried about him because he is adiment that he does not go to the doctor unless he's dieing.
Gender: MaleAge: 50 Already Tried: We went to the doctor today and had x-rays done on his facial and shoulder bones and they found no broken bones.
CustomerThis is very concerning as far as the doctor not seeing him at all- I am not sure why he did not do a physical examination. If his nose is bleeding for this long, even though it is light I would bring him to the ER immediately to get checked out including a physical examination of his injuries, of which his doctor should have done. This could be due to many things including a blood vessel close to the skin that needs to be clipped, an internal injury from his fall, amongst many other things. So I would encourage him to go to the ER immediately where they can do further testing and an examination to see where the bleeding is coming from, including further evaluation on his injuries which his doctor should have done.
As long as he holds his back he says it stops bleeding but its when he bends over to do something that the bleeding begins again.
CustomerI would still encourage him to go to the ER as bleeding for this long is not normal. At the ER they can use a special instrument to view inside his nose to see where the bleeding is coming from. This would be the only way to know and they can perform whatever treatment is necessary, along with stopping the bleeding.
