My calcium level was 9.5 in June of this year. Some of my symptoms are that I am not able to get to sleep without a sleeping aid. If I do get to sleep, I almost always wake up and can't get back to sleep. I almost always feel like I need to take a nap which lasts from 1-2 hours. My concentration has diminished and I find it difficult to remember what I just read and have to read a section 2-3 times to fully understand it. I'm dealing with a stressful life and have certainly had my depressing times. For over a week now I feel that there is a swelling sensation on my throat. I sense it more as I swallow. I am on medication for hypothyroidism and my thyroid levels have been consistently within the proper range. Do I need to be concerned about parathyroid?
Gender: FemaleAge: 53 Already Tried: Tylenol PM for sleeping problems. Timolol for high blood pressure. Levothyroxine for hypothyroid.
At 9.5, your calcium level is wtihin the normal range (although in some labs, it may be shown as slightly higher than normal). But this level does not indicate a parathyroid disorder. You should not worry about this.Your symptoms of sleeplessness and lack of concentration are typical symptoms of depression and stress. You should instead get treated for stress and depression. You should consult your doctor for medicines for stress and depression. If possible, you should consult a psychiatrist. With proper medication, you will soon regain control of your life.I hope my answer has helped you.
