my eye was swollen with some parts of the skin near my nose darker that the other areas. I saw my primary care physician on thursday. they thought it was an allergy. they gave me steriods to get rid of the discomfort. Now around my eye hurts. How quickly do I need to see a doctor?
Age: 52 Already Tried: Bendryl Steriods
Hello
Are you having any discharge from your eye?
Any blurry vision or vision changes at all?
it weeps some of the time...clear fluid no crusting..sometimes when I blink a "veil" comes across and then goes away. This is not frequent.
Thanks for the additional info
I would call the same Dr back on Monday and let him know that you are not feeling any better. They might end up giving you an antibiotic eye drop and/or a steriodal type of eye drop.
If your vision begins to change (as in blurry vision or other visual disturbances), or your eye begins to discharge a yellow or green discharge, you will definitely need some antibiotic drops.
In the meantime, if the eye feels irritated or dry, you can use some plain saline solution in the eye as often as needed and also a cool wet cloth applied to the eye will also help with inflammation.
