I was told by my doctor during a recent routine checkup that I had ear wax buildup in my right ear. I had noticed the last few weeks, that I hadn't been hearing very well out of that ear. They advised me to buy a kit to flush out the wax. I just tried it, put the drops in and then squirted warm water from a soft rubber bulb to flush it out. That was over 30 minutes ago, and now I cannot hear out of that ear at all. The ear is totally clogged. It kind of has me in a panic. What should I do now? Thank you.
Gender: FemaleAge: 53 Already Tried: Auro earwax removal aid for the last 3 days. Tonight, I tried the Debrox earwas removal kit and after I flushed with warm water, it actually is worse than ever. Now it is completely clogged up and I cannot hear from that ear at all.
Greetings.
It seems that the wax has been displaced and has blocked the ear canal by swelling and fluid. This should get better when it dries up, so do not panic. Ideally it should be cleaned by your primary care physician or an Ear Nose Throat (ENT) specialist using otoscope. Otoscope let the wax be cleaned under vision. Alternatively, tomorrow, you can put some luke warm drops of mineral oil by dropper in the ear to soften it for couple of days. This way it would be easier to clean it up by a rubber bulb syringe. But as I mentioned, getting cleaned it by a doctor is always better as it is done under vision.
