my problem started about a year ago. I had a new boyfriend and every time we had sex I had some bleeding. I was concerned because this had never happened to me before so I we to the dr had a pap test every thing was fine. a few months later nothing had changed and there was not only bleeding but cramping after sex. I went back to the dr had another pap test and ultra sound. all which were fine. but the bleeding and cramping persisted. it's been about 7 or 8 months now I no longer have a boyfriend. but now on the occasion I do masturbate and have an orgasm. about 15min after the orgasm I feel pressure in my abdomen and then there will be blood. the most confusing thing about this for me is that the pressure and bleeding after masturbation come even tho there is no penetration. just clitoral stimulation. the bleeding is like the start on my period. but will stop with in 24 hours. penetration is too painful to do at this time. what is going on? what should I do?I'm very concerned. twila
Gender: FemaleAge: 28 Already Tried: seeing a dr about a year ago and again about 8 months ago. pap tests and ultra sound.
Hello Customer! Being the pap and ultrasound are normal this is reassuring. The fact that you have bleeding even with clitoral stim then this is more likely from the mild contractions you get with orgasm. These can cause some small leakage of blood from the uterine wall if there is a friable endometrium. Things that can cause this like fibroids or infection are virtually ruled out with the ultrasound. If you estrogen levels run higher than average (or than they have in the past) then it is possible that slight contraction with intercourse, cramping, or climax you are getting spotting. This is why it seems like a period but stops more quickly. I would ask your dr about hormone testing and a possible trial of a low dose pill to try to regulate your hormones and thus stabilize the uterine lining. If no change then I would probably perform an endometrial biopsy to see the status of the uterine lining as this is not picked up with a pap. Good Luck Hope this helps!
could this be a sid affect of my birth control. depo prevara?
it could. The is a progesterone only med and can cause more spotting than things like combo meds. You may want to discuss changing to a low dose estrogen with the progesterone (like a yasmin) and this can certainly be an explanation.drknowsbest40041.0464513542
