Thanks so much for being there (here) ! I'm a phlebotomist who MAY have aspirated the tip of a glove (nitrile, non-powdered) this am @ 0700. My Dr's not in the office today. His MA said "Go the the ER for a chest X-ray". Do you think I should? Would I be coughing etc. had I aspirated this little bit - or could it indeed sit asymptomatically for awhile and cause me more trouble later(than if it were addressed now?) Thanks Again, LEE

Hello
May I ask how you might have aspirated the tip of a glove? Were you pulling the end off with your teeth so you could feel the vein?
yup
Thanks, XXXXX XXXXX a feeling you were going to say that.
If you had aspirated a piece of nitrile glove or any other type of glove while you were alert and oriented, you would have known it.
Even a piece the size of rice would have been felt and you would have coughed for quite a while.
If you have had absolutely no symptoms, I would say the chances are very unlikely or nil.
If you have been encouraged to get the chest xray, go ahead, but I personally don't feel it is necessary.
Hope this helps!
