I have very regular periods but I started taking a daily vitamin with chromium picolinate a few weeks ago and now my period is extremely light. Can the vitamin be responsible for this?
Gender: FemaleAge: 29State/Country: Georgia
Chromium should not have affected your periods. There are other reasons for light periods including increased exercise, change in hormone levels and even pregnancy.
Have you made any other changes?
There haven't been any other changes. I have been taking pain medication almost daily to deal with injuries from a car accident a few months ago.
What pain medication do you take ?
Can you describe the current pattern of your periods?
My periods are exactly every 28 days and last for 5-7 days. I have been taking 800mg of Ibuprophen and oxycontin as needed, which usually is once every few days.
Ibuprofen is a NSAID that works on prostaglandins, as well as affecting pain there is also an effect on menstrual flow. So, as long as you have not been having unprotected intercourse, I would not be concerned about this.
