Customer Question

I am a 32year old, mother of 3 (all vaginal births, the last one was 4 years ago). I have had my "tubes tied" and my last period was 10 days ago.
I am having a sharp pain in my abdomen and down my legs as I try to move. I have an uncomfortable pressure on my rectum and vagina. This just started, but I have had some discomfort during sex lately and unusual soreness afterwards. My only sexual partner is my husband of 15 years.

Hello, can I ask some questions?

Is the pain going down both legs?

Any change to bladder or bowel habit?

Any vaginal discharge?

Any bleeding after intercourse?

Any swelling of the legs?

Customer replied 1017 days and 7 hours ago.

Yes, but mostly right leg.

This pain just started so I have not noticed any bladder changes, but I have had more dificulty during bowel movements lately.

No discharge.

No bleeding.

I have not noticed any swelling, but I have gained wait lately so my legs look puffy to me

Thanks for the extra information. I am afraid that you will need to see a doctor for an abdominal examination, and possibly some scans.

Pain at this time of your cycle may be related to ovulation however this should not typically cause pain spreading down the leg. An ovarian cyst needs to be ruled out. Also endometriosis or adhesions is another possibility. However as bowel movements are difficult then intestinal obstruction following constipation also needs to be ruled out.

If pain is greater than 7/10 on scale of 1-10 then you should go to ER or urgent care, otherwise you should see your doctor after the weekend. In the meantime you can use heat pads, tylenol and ibuprofen for pain relief.
