I'm a 50+ physician who just had his MMR antibody studies completed for the hospital and noted that my Rubella is 89 (greater than 9 is positive) and the Rubeola IgG is 5.09 with greater than 1.09 as positive but the lab flagged it as "High". Mumps IgG was less than 0.91 (negative) with greater than 1.09 being positive. I don't remember when I last had an MMR booster and would it be sufficient to increase my mumps IgG? Believe me, its been a long time since I had anything to do with IgG values! Thank you for any information.
Hello,
Welcome to Just Answer and thanks for your question. Mumps over 50 isn't fun, so I'd go for the booster. The rubella is fine as it is, but you are showing no protection against mumps at all. Since you are exposed to mumps in your practice, the immunization is necessary.
