I came home with my ankle mildly swollen I iced it for 20 min every hour for the last 3 hours it has progressively gotten more swollen. How worried should i be. What else can i do?

Hi, How would you rate the pain from 1 to 10? Is the skin overlying the swelling warm/hot or discolored? Did you sustained any injury at work?
pain is about a 6 right now this swollen area is warm to the touch I dont rember hurting at work today .. I felt like i was walking more on the outside of my foot than i usually do. At times the pain at work would get bad ( 8 or 9) but only for a couple steps then the pain would go a way
The swelling is most likely due to inflammation and injury at the tarsal joints due to overstraining. Also there may be associated ligament injury if there were any blunt trauma to the foot. What you need the most at this point is to elevate the foot above the body while lying down and take Ibuprofen for inflammation. Also continue applying ice at regular intervals. And if the swelling continues to get worse or pain is severe, you should get emergency medical assistance. Regards.
