Do you play any game?

I have no arthiritis. The ankle only swells up immediately after the pain. I have played competitive badminton for 40 years.

It is looking like that you got tendonitis due to trauma to tendons while playing. However do simple things like applying ice to area.Taking a pain killer like Ibuprofen three tmes a day.Giving rest to area.
Other option is that problem happened in alignmenet of bones of ankle.Which needs to be correcetd by a Chiropractor. However wait 5 days if problem persist then you need to show it to an orthpedic doctor or a chiropractor.
