my hip, shoulder, knees as well as in the muscles of my arms and legs

Dear Doctor,
I am wondering if I could have sarcoidosis because I have been having many pains in my hip, shoulder, knees as well as in the muscles of my arms and legs. I have had it in my head also, which was not a general headache but a pain covering the left side of my head. It lasted for about an hour despite taking Co-codamol. These pains are sometimes shooting pains and sometimes lingering pains. Sometimes, I feel as though I am on fire where the pains hit. My doctor tested my blood for fibromyalgia, which came back as negative. He has told me to take painkillers (which constipate me, and for which I take a laxative), but I don't like taking them.
About 3/4 weeks ago, my G.P. injected my hip with steroid because he said I have bursitis in it, but the pain is getting worse and wakens me in the early hours.
I wonder if you could advise me please.
Do you suffer from shortness of breath or you have ever had any skin rash?
Customer: replied 7 years ago.

I do have eczema on legs and hands, which flares and then subsides, and which I have had for a number of years now. I have a history of asthma, but have not suffered with this for over five years. I do occasionally have shortness of breath after walking upstairs, but this is not bad.

I do get pains in my back as though my chest is being squeezed, which I put down to the other generalized pains I have described previously.

Sarcoidosis has varied presentations . Lung problems and skin rashes are very common manifestation of sarcoidosis. It could also present with problems that you are having. Have you had a chest X-ray. If not, please get one done. It may show whether you have sarcoidosis or not.

Take care

Please, click the ACCEPT button so that I can get my dues. Do my symptoms sound too generalized for you to advise on diagnosis.

My doctor suggested that it may be a return of the post-viral fatigue, which I had about 4 years ago. The pains are much worse this time.

The pain in my left shoulder and right hip make it so that I mostly have to sleep on my back, which makes for a less restful night.

Are the symptoms described previously part of sarcoidosis presentation. I really do not want it to be this but would like to know why I am in so much pain.

Which viral infection did you suffer from 4 years back?
Customer: replied 7 years ago.
I had the 'flu, which led to post-viral fatigue syndrome.

Post viral fatigue is more likely. Since, you are so much concerned about sarcoidosis that i asked you to go for a chest x-ray. It is very likely to go negative but there is no harm in ruling it out. Sarcoidosis usually presents with lung problems and skin rashes and you do not have these problems. Rule it out, you will feel better.

Please, click the ACCEPT button so that I can get my dues. BONUS and a positive feedback are always welcomed
