Had long period of recognizing pneumonia, diagnosis of plurasey, large amount of fluid removed, scar tissue now at site of fluid removal. Continuing severe pain at site of fluid removal. Visits to various M.D. without help. Urgently need pain reduction, please help. Scar tissue removable??
Dear R. Van Hook,
greetings and thankyou for using justanswer!
what are the pain killers you are taking now?
when the fluid was removed?
Tylonal, etc. no real high drugs.
Dear R. van Hook,
thankyou for the information!
The tylenol contains acetaminophen and is not a good analgesic though it is a good antipyretic.Since your pain is not releived by it you can take other NSAID pain killers like diclofenac, ibuprofen, etc. which are slightly better in controlling pain. You can get these as OTC medicines from a nearby pharmacy shop.
The more powerful pain killers are opioid analgesics like tramadol, vicodin, morphine, etc. for pain which is very severe not controlled by regular analgesics. You will need prescription by a doctor for geetting these opioid analgesics.
Let me know if you need any more information.
Thank you!
I was hoping for a surgical solution to permantly cure the pain
The pain management technque is usually used to control the pain due to such scar tissue. The scar tissue can also be treated surgically with the help of myofascial release technique. You should consult a plastic surgeon for that.
Though the scars older than 12 weeks respond less but for the control of severe pain, the surgery might be helpful to you in some way.
