There is no real evidence that Splenda can cause changes in the blood sugar, according to this link:

However, you may also want to consider using Stevia, the herbal leaf sweetener that is now marketed in the US and has been used for many years in Japan and parts of Europe:

Stevia can be used in coffee and other drinks and to sweeten cereal. It just can't be used in cooking and baking because it then becomes bitter.

Some of the Meijer stores now carry Stevia, and also you can get it online and at most health food stores.
