I have had three hard knots appear in the palm of my hand. What in the world could this be?

You most likely have tendonsynovitis, which is an inflammation of the tendon sheaths of your fingers. Wear and tear of the tendons can cause inflammation, leading to nodule formation.

This condition is benign. In many cases these nodules will go away on their own. If they are persistent and start to bother you, your doctor can inject them with steroid.
