I have a spot on my left hand that is swollen the size of half

This answer was rated:

I have a spot on my left hand that is swollen the size of half of a golf ball. Its been swollen since Nov. 08 and feels like it has fluid in it. I've been diagnosed in the past with carpel tunnel syndrome.

Can you tell me where on your hand it is located?

What color is the bump?

Customer: replied 7 years ago.

It is on my left hand right below my thumb almost at my wrist. It has no unusual color...sometimes it hurts badly.

Thank you virginia,

It sounds like you may have developed a Ganglion Cyst.

A Ganglion Cyst is a swelling on top of a joint or covering of a tendon.

It looks like a sac of fluid and has a jelly like substance inside.

To know for sure your doctor can aspirate it ( draw the fluid out with a syringe) and or do an ultrasound of your hand to make sure it doesn't involve any blood vessels.

Once the fluid is taken out the a steriod anti-inflamatory is injected.

After having this done 74% do not have a reoccurance.
