Customer Question

Hello,

Is this related to shrinkage of liver because of hepatitis C , B or alcohol?

Can you please explain your concern regarding liver?

Thank you

Customer: replied 8 years ago.

This is not related to alcohol. I don't know if its hepatitis related or not. The person who has it is 84 years old and is in good health; however she has been anemic for a year and an ultrasound showed her liver is shrinking. Her doctor will be conducting more blood tests. She hasn't had hepatitis, but two of her daughters had hepatitis when they were young children. She has rarely drank alcohol throughout her life.

Thank you

Thank you so much.

Most commonly liver cirrhosis is termed as liver is shrinking.

There is fibrosis in liver tissue and the cells are damaged or shrunken.

Most common cause is alcohol and viral hepatitis.

Apart from that there is a long list of other causes as well which can cause liver to shrink.

Only proper diagnostic evlautaion can figure out the underlying cause.

Anemia may or may not be related to liver.

Best wishes
