I am vomiting a yellow, bitter, bile substance approximately

This answer was rated:

I am vomiting a yellow, bitter, bile substance approximately once every 2 or 3 days sometimes, once a week. I had a US and a Hide a Scan performed with no causes found. What else could it be? The Dr. recommended a colonoscopy but, I have no diarrhea.   When all of this first began, about a 6 weeks ago, I had a terrible LLQ pain. But, after taking Cipro for about a week the signs/symptoms disappeared for about 4 wks. but, are now reappearing.

I agree, instead of colonoscopy, you will require an esophagogastroduodenoscopy (upper GI endoscopy) and barium meal examination. Following needs to be looked for;

1) Esophagitis

2) Gastritis

3) Gastroparesis

4) Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)

5) Gastric and duodenal ulcer (peptic ulcer disease)

6) Hiatus hernia
