I have a small lump in my thigh, its not visible, but you can feel it under the skin. It has been there for a few months now. It hasn't caused me any problems. I am just concerned because it hasn't disappeared.
Hello, Will you please answer some questions to serve you better- 1.What is the approximate size of it? 2.Is the skin over it has some special features like change of colour? 3.Is it movable or adhere to the skin? 4.Is there any associated swelling/s in your groin region? 5.Is there any dimple or pit on the swelling? Please do reply.
It is about 2 cm all around
No change in colour of the skin over it.
Its not moveable
No swelling, that I have noticed
With your description, it looks to be a cyst. Most probably a sebaceous cyst ,which is formed due to blockage of sebum producing glands in our body. If it is so, then it may not be a serious one .These are generally confused with lipoma(fat tissue tumors) which are very much doughy to feel & do not show a punctum( which may be there in sebaceous cyst). I any case, I suggest you to consult a general surgeon, who will diagnose it easily by clinical examination. It may be better to remove it, because it may get infected & cause severe pain. Thank you
