Swelling of one leg is due to local cause in that limb. Injury is the most common cause. As you dont have one then the other cause like obstruction of vein by clot or lymph vessels should be considered. When deep vein clot carries a potential danger from embolism , you should have an examination by doctor.

Hope this information will help you.

If I have one of these conditions would there be pain?

Not always. If there is no inflammation causing thrombophlebitis then there will be no pain.
