Is it alright to give a kenalog injection and flu vaccine at

Customer Question

Is it alright to give a kenalog injection and flu vaccine at the same time? I was under the impression that it's alright as long as the vaccination is not live. This was a flu injection.

Greetings.

For what reason kenalog is being given? What are the dates for flu vaccine and the kenalog injection?

Kenalog was given for acute bronchitis (40mg IM). The patient did not have a fever and was requesting a flu shot at the visit as well to keep them from having to return. I hope this helps.

Hello,

Kenalog is a steroid, which is considered to decrease or suppress the body immunity. When it is given, any vaccine is avoided as the immune response of the vaccine would not be adequate or optimal.
