When did it occur?

Is there any swelling ?

Any area of tenderness?

Customer: replied 7 years ago.
It occured about an hour ago and there is tenderness and possibly a little swelling

Thank you for the information.

At this stage you need to put ice on it. You should put ice wrapped in a towel to prevent cold injury to the knee.

You should not put more than 15- 20 min in an hour. You should leave time in between when the skin temperature will come to normal.

In addition you should keep the knee at rest & elevated.

If the swelling or pain increases then you should get it checked by doctor.

I hope this information will help.

Please ask if you need any clarification.

Best wishes.

This is helpful. I am taking a trip Tuesday and want to be able to walk so am concerned about this....Do you think I need to take more aggressive action?
Expert:  Dr. Saha replied 7 years ago.
If you have a trip then you should get it checked by a doctor. If he feels an X ray or scan can be taken to rule out any bone or ligament injury.

If the pain is severe then you can take analgesic, antiinflammatory drugs like motrin , advil after food .
