how long does a 10 mg dose of prednisone stay in your system?
Optional Information: Age: 52; Female, Minnesota Already Tried: also need to know if i have to wait to use singulair and advair inhaler
the half life of prednisone is 18-36 hrs and is excreted through urine.. it will take almost 4-5 days to get it out of the system compeltely.. you donot have to wait to take advair and singulair.. infact advair should be started while being on prednisone to avoid recurrence.
also the prednisone was prescribed in nov of 2005 is it still ok to use
well you will have to look at the expiry date on the prescription.. are you havinga flare of COPD?
can't find an expiration date and it's my asthma thats flaring up a bit.
ok.. the usual time frame is a year on a prescription ..but since you can;t find the expiration date it will be risky to use it.also if you had multiple prescription for prednisone over years .. it may be an older one...Also you can call your doctor and he can call it in for you. You may be better off with a medrol dose pack which can be purchased for 4$ from kroger or walmart.

There is no data on what prednisone can do if expired but obviously you wont get the required effects as active ingrtedients may not work they way it should also they may have other harmful effects.
