non-small cell lung cancer stage 4

Customer Question

My wife who is 64 years old has just been diagnosed with non-small cell lung cancer stage 4. She was told it is too late to operate and chem won't work. She is on a drug called Tarceva 150 mg. Is there any other treatments for her disease?? Her parents, my wife and I have never smoked.

Tarceva is a new (monoclonal antibody) treatment for non small cell lung cancer. It is for use when chemotherapy has not worked.
Unfortunately although smoking increases the risk of lung cancer greatly that doesn't mean that non smokers never get it - it's just less likely.
Ive added some info on lung cancers and on tarceva
