The commonest type of Latex allergy is allergy to natural latex, not synthetic rubber.

So in fact you are allergic to natural latex and not to synthetic compunds.

Latex allergy is due to allergy to proteins found in the rubber extracted from rubber trees.

In another form of latex allergy, the allergy is to compounds used in the processing of rubber, and this type of allergy is to both natural and synthetic rubber.

can you recomend what type of mattress to use
A traditional goose-down mattress should be fine for you.

Polyster-foam mattresses will also work well. You should confirm that it is polyester foam and not latex foam.
