Customer Question

I recently went to the ER with chest pain. I had had a edg done three days before. I have had a history of chest pain, but have never been given a reason for it. A cardiologist saw me and stated he thought it was from the edg, but should have my carotid arteries ultrasound as a out patient. The gastro doctor stated he didn't think this had anything to do with my digestive system. The check pain is still there more than before. What should I do? No one seems to believe me.

It is in my chest just left of the breast bone. It radiates to my back and at times my thoat seems to want to tighten. Then the pain will ease off to just a tightness

five days

Hi

So 5 days of pain - just to the left of the breast bone - with nothing that aggravates or relieves the pain?

It is certainly not consistent with either cardiac or GI pain.

Cardiac pain last 3-5 mins and is precipitated by exertion - GI pain is intermittent and usually made worse by eating.

The only other common problem would be chostochondritis or fibromyositis.

I'll post you a link about this.

Dr Jef

PS - as you still have pain another visit to your Dr would be appropriate.

My daughter reminded me of two more things; I have pulmonary fibrosis and two pulmonary nodules.

Hi

Neither of these issues would cause pain.
