I had a colonoscopy one week ago today. I dont seem

Resolved Question:

I had a colonoscopy one week ago today. I don't seem to have any more gas cramps, but I am having daily bowel movements, sometimes 2 a day. They are nor hard or diarrhea, but more on the softer side. I see no blood, do not have a fever, or nausea or vomiting, and I am eating. My doc said the colonoscopy was fine-just some small hemorrhoids that could have been caused by the prep. Before, I was constipated, and now I am the opposite. After I have a bowel movement, I feel a little irritated. Should I worry about perforation? When will my bowel movements return to normal again?

Perforation of bowel is an uncommon complcation of colonoscopy ( 1 in 1700). Perforation of bowel would cause bleeding in stools, severe abdominal pain & rigidity, dizziness, weakness, breathlessness. Your symptoms do not favour a diagnosis of perforation.

As your stool consistency is soft ( not loose like diarrhea) & the bowel frquency is within normal limits, I do not think this is a cause of concern.
