After drinking alcohol my urine has an exceptionally strong and unpleasant smell. Is this a sympton of a liver problem
Optional Information: Male, Age: 64, United KingdomAlready Tried: nothing
Greetings.
No, this cannot be taken as liver problem. Alcohol is known to make a person dehydrated a bit and this can make urine concentrated and smelly. This is also associated with the substances excreted in the urine simultaneously, so eatables too can reflect in the urine smell as metabolic products of these eatables and alcohol can contribute to the smell. Urinary tract infection do make urine having a strong odor, so that can also be a factor.

The initial liver dysfunctions are usually without symptoms and are only detectable by the blood work like liver functions tests and enzymes.
