What is this Half inch diameter red (actually pink) spot, ...

Resolved Question:

What is this: Half inch diameter red (actually pink) spot, flat , no blisters , not spreading , non-itching and no pain associated in the middle of the forehead. Has been there unchanged for 5 days or more. No associated spots other than this one. 65 yr old female. If like anything it would be like you had pressed up against something while sleeping which usually goes away quickly. This spot has not changed in any way and has not gone away .

Hi Kay,

It is difficult to say what has caused it. From your description it does sound like a mark that has been left behind from contact with something that caused the irritation. I have seen this happen with someone that put a small suction cup on the forehead as a joke, and the mark lasted for over a week before it disappeared. You can put some ice on it for very short periods at a time. You can cover it with some concealer or makeup. If it is still present in another week then you can get an evaluation from a dermatologist.

As of this morning it seems to be peeling away skin as if a blister but I dont remember touching that area with something hot. Beneath the skin , it is a little scaley. Still no pain and has not changed except the first layer of skin
