Since how many days you have the pain?

Is it radiating to left arm ? Any numbness in arm ?

Breathing problem ? Is the pain constant? nausea?

Any past medical history ?

About 3 days or so.
Nothing in left arm.
No breathing problems. Not a constant pain, just short bursts. No nausea.
No past medical history

Pain in chest should always be checked for cardiac origin, So firstly get an EKG done. However It seems a muscular pain. This condition is called as Costochondritis. It is an inflammation of the cartilage joining ribs to chest bone. It is this inflammation that causes the sharp chest pains inside the chest wall.Other reason can be pull in the muscles or ligaments of ribs..

So a proper physical examination is must along with EKG ,along with Chest X-Ray. See your Physician, for further follow up.

Take Care.

Also i would add that -one more possibility is of acid reflux disease, caused by excess secretion of gastric acid , it can cause the pain, and it can be felt in chest. You should take Syp pepto bismol .
