I need to know a little more about the risks of using steroids for neck pain

Epidural steroids are genrally considered very safe. There are a few uncommon side-effects--
  • post-injection headache (common, but transient)
  • infection (less than 0.5%)
  • increased blood sugar causing problem with diabetes control
  • bleding (prevented by good technique)
  • dural tear (again prevented by good technique)
  • side effects of steroids may appear with repeated injections (weight gain, swelling of ankle feet, osteoporosis)
  • vasovagal syncope (fainting during injection)
