My thiamine (B1) level is elevated at 146.9. What does this mean? What should I do to lower it? What symptoms are associated with an elevated B1?
Optional Information: Male, Age: 66, North CarolinaAlready Tried: Nothing
Hi, thiamine or vitamin B1 is a water soluble vitamin, meaning that even though you may be having a high level now,it will soon be excreted from the body via the kidney. So, thiamine is not toxic in high concentrations. The normal blood thiamine level is 75 to 185 nmol/L. There is no such disease associated with a high blood B1 level as it is not dangerous. It is the deficiency of thiamine that causes disease. If you are taking thiamine supplements, you can reduce/ stop it.I hope my answer is helpful to you.
