Hello Bobbie,

Muscle fatigue from sitting or lying for an extended period in an awkward position may cause poor circulation of blood to the body.

There are several causes of muscle cramps like fatigue, dehydration, electrolyte like potassium, sodium, calcium, & vitamin deficiency, medication like blood pressure & cholesterol lowering agents, diabetes, hypothyroidism, other neurological disease etc.

Cause to be identified and take measures to avoid the precipitating factor.

Avoid prolonged sitting. Though stretching precipitate you muscle cramps if you stretch every 10-15 mins you may avoid muscle cramps by facilitating adequate circulation of blood.

For prevention you have maintain adequate hydration.

Take adequate fruits, calcium containing food.

Multivitamins may also help.

If these does not help contact your doctor to determine any cause by physical examination and investigation.

If you need further clarifications, I will be happy to explain you.

Had three major operations a few weeks ago, that's why I have been down a lot. That may be the reason as I'm still recuperating. But I appreciate your help. Thank you.
