Hi,
By the symptoms you are describing it seems that you are having migraine headache. Migraine has typical symptoms of half headed pain, associated with mild nausea, intolerance to noise and light etc.
The treatment is taking painkiller and resting in a quite room. Also one should avoid the triggering factor for migraine which can be stress, lack of sleep, intolerance to extreme of temperatures etc. Also sometimes one has spectacle correction, which if not used can precipitate a migraine attack.
I would advise you to take painkiller like tylenol/motrin and rest in a dark, quite room. If still there is no relief then you need to consult your doctor for stronger painkillers and if required a prophylaxis for migraine.

More detail: I have been very depressed and pulling single strands of hair. Could this be an infection?

Dear XXXXX,
Thanks for getting back,
It would seem that the headahce has been due to a combination of migraine and stress headache.
Pulling hairs nad depression do not point to any infeciton as a cause,
Get a detailed evaluation with a physician/ neurologist/ psychiatrist for appropriate treatment,
