my xiphoid process hurts, and is very tender to the touch. What is causing this? Is this normal?

HiCustomer

It sounds like your xiphoid process is inflamed.

A common cause is costochondritis. If you have no other symptoms, and you only hurt when you press, this is very likely. If there are any other symptoms then a heart problem must be ruled out.

I am going to provide a link for you to read about costochondritis, and I would advise you to contact your doctor in the morning to make sure that no testing or other treatment is needed.
