This answer was rated:

Yesterday I pierced a facial pimple (possibly an ingrown whisker) with what i thought was a sterile (alcohol) needle. It is now infected; sore and very, very itchy. What should i now do?

Are you using any medications for acne?

Are these acne only on face?

For how long you have such acne?

I do not suffer from acne. This is an isolated instance happening rarely

You can apply a cream contaning sulphur and benzoyl peroxide . It will help in relieving itching and will prevent infection. Also you can take OTC medication Zyrtec to control itching.

Also use warm compresses 2-3 times a day. Keep infected part away from dust and dirt. These symptoms will resolve in 3-5 days.

what about just plain peroxide, or alcohol ?

Or is there an OTC cream similar enough to sulfer & benzoyl.

If I can't find OTC Zyrtec, is there another appropriate OTC cream

Zyrtec is commonly avaliable as OTC drug. Benzoyl peroxide is best, XXXXX XXXXX did not find that, then you an use Plain peroxide.

If you notice any foul smelling discharge, even after 2 days, then you should be seen by doctor.
