Can deep tissue massage cause blood clots

Resolved Question:

I got a deep tissue massage this past weekend and it was more painful then I thought it would be. Am I putting myself at risk of developing a clot from this type of stress relief treatment...? or is this safe...? curious...

It is not considered a risk factor for blood clots or what we call as deep vein thrombosis.
The risk factors are old age, Immobilization longer than 3 days, Pregnancy and the postpartum period, Major surgery, Long plane or car trips, Cancer, Stroke, multiple trauma, CNS/spinal cord injury, Lower extremity fractures,Vasculitis, Polycythemia, Thrombocytosis, Drugs/medications, intravenous drug abuse, Oral contraceptives etc.
