Resolved Question:

I have left rib pain soreness. I thought it was bruised at first, but there is no bruise present. It feels sore like a bruise, and if i touch it it is very painful and sore. It is on my left side in and under the rib cage. I have no other symptoms. I breathe just fine, and can even take deep breaths fine. I haven't injured it at all. I just woke up with it one morning. What is this? I am concerned. Thanks, XXXXX XXXXX

Hello Renee,

Thank you for your question.

It is posssible that you have cosochondritis.

That is an inflammation of the rib cage that is typical for your age and can be caused by a repetitive motion.

You can try some motrin if not contraindicated and a heating pad.

Here is some more info about it.

Let me know if you have more questions.
