Which of the following would result in the more rapid absorption of a drug: a subcutaneous injection or an intradermal injection? Why?
Optional Information: Male, Age: 50, North CarolinaAlready Tried: nothing
Hi,Since you are online, could you please give some more information:It would depend on the drug. What drug is it?I am available online to help you further after I get this info.
It s a school question about skin.
Are you answer my question? please do.
A subcutaneous injection would have a much faster rate of absorption because the subcutaneous region has much more blood supply than the skin itself. The skin has comparatively less blood suply. Hence it is used mainly for injection of vaccines and not for drug delivery.I hope this answer was helpful. If you need more information, feel free to ask.
