Using an ice pack for the swelling is the only method but it will take a while for the swelling to go down. Using an anti-inflammatory tablet such as ibuprofen 400mg three times daily may speed up the process. A witch hazel or arnica compress will help with bruising and you can take arnica tablets too.

If the teeth have been pushed into the lip then it may take even longer for the swelling to reduce.
