Valerian root can give a false positive for Valium on a urine blood test but should be able to be differentiated on a test done with the GC/MS (gas chromatography/mass spectrometry) which has specific peaks for benzodiazepines. As for second hand pot smoke, that depends on the amount of exposure. Usually the amount of exposure is below the threshold for "positive" if it's only second hand.
it was a urine test. my son has not smked pot in months but ismoke all the time and thc is on upper end of scale for pot in washington .igave him 3 or 4 capsules of valerian root extract 300 mg.he visits all the time and sits near me as i smoke my pot.
