Customer Question

My husband is pooping blood, vomiting, and having really sharp pains in his stomach. I know this is not normal but he won't go to the doctor. What do you think it may be? He has been dignosed with bleeding ulcers, is this a possibility?

Optional Information:
Male, Age: 24, Missouri

Already Tried:
He called the VA to get an appointment and they will not see him until tomorrow. I need to know if this is more urgent than that.

Hello,

What color is the blood that he is passing in the stool - blackish, reddish? is the entire stool blackish or are there only streaks of blood on the stool?

Customer replied 2178 days and 7 hours ago.

He says that the blood color is almost black and it is only streaks.

Hello,

If the blood color is blackish, then he is bleeding from the ulcer in his stomach. This needs emergency care to control the bleeding. Please take him to the ER as early as possible.

Meanwhile give him sips of cold water to help the open blood vessels to constrict to some extent and decrease the bleeding. Thsi will not however stop the bleeding and he needs medical attention as early as possible.

I hope this helps.
