my husband has a lot of blood coming from his rectum when he is using the bathroom, what could this mean? He is not experiencing any pain, but the amount makes me suspect it might be more than hemroids

Dear Sophea,

If it is over 2 tbsp of blood then he needs to go for an exam soon. He may have internal hemorrhoids, a fissure, colitis, a polyp or cancer. The only way to find out is to have a rectal and colon exam. Here is some info for you, and I hope he goes to the doctor for an evaluation:
