How do you treat Trichomonas and does it goes away for good or is this something that flares up on and off?
Optional Information: Female , Age: 27Already Tried: Just Douching
Hello, Antibiotics are used to treat Trichomonas. Metronidazole (Flagyl) is commonly used. It is important to avoid drinking alcohol throughout the course of treatment and for 48 hours after antibiotics are completed. Use of alcohol with metronidazole can cause severe nausea and vomiting. Avoid intercourse until treatment has been completed. This will go away but it is always possible to be re-infected if you are not careful. Let me know if you have further questions. Anna
Can I use something over the counter or do I need a prescription for this?
Unfortunately you will need a perscription for the antibiotics. This is the only was to get rid of it. Anna
