Temporary blindess spells can occur as a result of blockage in the vessels supplying the eye. This can arise out of-

  • atherosclerosis
  • spasm of arteries as in hypertension and ateritis
  • diabetes
  • glaucoma
  • stroke and ischemic attacks can also cause this

It is necessary that an eye checkup should be done at the earliest if episodes of temporary blindness occur and it becomes all the more essential if the person concerned is a diabetic or hypertensive or has any heart problems. Hope this has been useful.
