If your child is between 48-59 lbs would be 4 chewables which = 200 mg..... If between 60-71 lbs would be 5 chewables = 250mg

repeat dosage every 6-8 hrs.

No, I don't have chewables, I only have infant drops. I read on a chart that for my child's weight, abt 78 lbs., it would be 8 droppers x 1.25 ml. Does that soud correct to you??

Thank you!

Hi,
I am a pediatrician. While infant motrin is inappropriate for a 9 year old in terms of the quantity that is required, the actual dose is calculated as per the childs weight (& not just the age).
Assuming his weight to be around 65 Lb
the dose would be around 300 mg,
and this comes to 7.5 ml of Infant MOTRIN (50 mg / 1.25 ml)
I think that you are overdosing the kid if you are giving him 3 teaspoons which is roughly equivalent to 15 ml (double the required dose).
Please use the dropper provided and give 7.5 ml of infant motrin if you need to control the fever.
