Biuret reagent is extremely caustic to the skin
and clothing. If biuret reagent spills, rinse with water and call your teacher immediately.

When biuret reagent is mixed with a protein, it will produce a lavender to violet color.olor.. brownish-purple+color&hl=en

Basically, your skin is a protein, and that's why it turns color. You should try to avoid getting it on your skin though.
