Do you have a recent backup of the data from before the update was attempted?
Ok, well the maps and saved journeys are stored in the Nuvi's memory - inside the unit.
If they are gone, and there is no backup to recover them from, then I'm afraid there is no way to recover them.
Since the Tools icon is also missing, it seems that the update did not work correctly or has become corrupted somehow, so you will need to attempt another update, or perform a factory reset on the device.
To perform a Master Reset on your Garmin Nuvi 1410:
Your device will automatically reset. Follow the on screen prompts then take your device outdoors to acquire satellites.
My answer may not be "good news", but is an accurate & honest answer.Many times the only "fix" will be to repair or replace a failed device, or to realise that the information you are looking for is lost.
